• Sodium olefin sulfonate 35

Sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate is an anionic surfactant often found in bath shower, and hair care cleansers. It is a mixture of long-chain sulfonate salts prepared by sulfonation of C14-16 alpha-olefins. It can be derived from coconut and produces a copious foam. Combines the advantages of high foaming power, good emulsification, mildness to the skin, and excellent lime soap dispersion to give the formulator maximum flexibility in the preparation of light as well as heavy-duty cleaners. Also suitable for use in acidic formulations such as those containing alpha hydroxyl acids or salicylic acid. Used in liquid hand soap, when used with amine oxide and electrolytes, produces high viscosity, low color products.
